Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) on 1 West

The Opportunity
MaineGeneral Health is offering an exciting opportunity for a Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team on 1 West. 1 West is a 36 bed med/surg unit with a focus on cardiac, stroke, and higher-acuity medical patients. Nurses on this unit love the fun they have with their co-workers while providing a high level of specialized care. This is a 36 hour position on the night shift (7p-7a). You will be working three 12-hour shifts per week. Positions include weekend and holiday rotation.
The Work
- Plans, implements, and evaluates patient care plans based on patient assessment to optimize outcomes and maximize available resources. Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
- Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
- Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
- Effectively delegates patient care to ancillary personnel. May precept student nurses and new hires.
You Have
- Maine state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) or ability to obtain in a timely fashion, required
