ALM Implementation Consultant (Polarion/Jama)
Vantage MedTech
Summary
This is a hands-on, customer-facing implementation role. As an ALM Implementation Consultant, you will configure Siemens Polarion, Jama Connect, and related ALM/PLM platforms for medical device, automotive and other regulated product companies, and guide customers from implementation through successful adoption by their engineering teams.
Job description
Responsibilities
- Discover and define. Lead workshops with customer engineering, quality, and regulatory teams. Map their design-control process and turn it into a solution design and clear configuration requirements.
- Configure the platform. Build projects, work item types, workflows, fields, link roles, templates, dashboards, and reports in Polarion and Jama, largely through no-code/low-code administration.
- Bridge to developers. When a need goes beyond configuration (scripts, integrations, migrations), write the spec, hand it to our developers, and test what comes back.
- Validate. Draft requirements and test cases, execute them, and complete validation reports for the configured system.
- Enable customers. Train admins and end users, write guides, and support go-live and early adoption.
- Own the relationship. Be the day-to-day contact on your projects; deliver on scope and schedule and bring follow-on needs to the team.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or another technical discipline.
- 1-3 years implementing, configuring, or administering an enterprise application for customers or business users.
- Experience in regulated product development: medical devices, pharma, aerospace, automotive, or defense.
- Preferred: Polarion or Jama administrator certification or project experience; prior work as a systems, software, or quality engineer at a medical device company.
Required Skills
- Hands-on configuration of an enterprise ALM, PLM, or QMS platform (Polarion, Jama, Codebeamer, Windchill, Teamcenter, MasterControl, Veeva, or Jira/Azure DevOps at enterprise scale).
- Practical understanding of requirements traceability, risk management, and verification and validation.
- Workshop facilitation and requirements elicitation with engineering and quality stakeholders.
- Clear technical writing: configuration specs, test cases, validation reports, and user guides.
- Training and presenting to both admins and end users.
- Preferred: working knowledge of ISO 13485, ISO 14971, IEC 62304, or 21 CFR Part 11; light scripting (JavaScript, Python, Velocity) or REST APIs.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to evaluate complex business processes, troubleshoot technical and process-related challenges, and develop effective ALM solutions.
