Company overview

Fate Therapeutics, Inc. is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company headquartered in San Diego, California, dedicated to developing innovative induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC)-derived cellular immunotherapies for cancer and autoimmune diseases. Founded in 2007 and publicly traded on NASDAQ under the symbol FATE, the company has established a leadership position in creating multiplexed-engineered master iPSC lines and manufacturing off-the-shelf, iPSC-derived cell products. Fate Therapeutics' proprietary platform combines multiplexed-engineering of human iPSCs with single-cell selection to create clonal master iPSC lines, enabling the production of well-defined, uniform cell products that can be stored in inventory for on-demand availability. The company's pipeline includes iPSC-derived T-cell and natural killer (NK) cell product candidates, such as FT819 for autoimmune diseases and FT825 for solid tumors, which incorporate novel synthetic controls of cell function like chimeric antigen receptors (CARs) to target specific antigens. With over 500 issued patents and 500 pending applications supporting its technology platform, Fate Therapeutics is advancing a revolutionary approach to cell therapy that aims to overcome limitations associated with patient- and donor-sourced cell therapies while making treatments more accessible to broad patient populations.
