Summary
Work in conjunction with the attending cardiothoracic surgeon and non-surgical providers for medical care of cardiothoracic surgical patients.
Job description
- Perform initial evaluation, history, and physical examination of all assigned patients.
- Perform daily assessment and formulate plan of care for all assigned patients and direct admissions.
- Complete patient discharge on all assigned patients.
- Responsible for the care of all postoperative patients in our TOHU step down unit.
- Participate in ongoing education, quality, and research projects.
- Contribute to service-related databases as indicated.
- Participate in education of patients and families during their inpatient course.
Requirements
- Must be Board Eligible or Board Certified
- A Valid Pennsylvania Medical License or ability to obtain one is required
- Graduate from accredited educational program for Nurse Practitioners
- ICU experience preferred
- Experience as an independent clinician required
