Summary
The overall function of this position is to prepare and serve regular and special diets to patients and employees under the supervision of the Director of Dietary Services. Maintains a clean environment. Flexible hours. Must be patient and tolerant toward staff, patients and patient family members.

Schedule
Flexible hours: Morning shift 5:00AM - 1:30PM, Evening Shift 9:30AM - 6:00PM and Rotating Weekends
Job Duties/Responsibilities
- Maintains high standards of food handling and cleanliness.
- Uses cook, chill or conventional cooking methods to prepare quality foods in sufficient quantities.
- Adheres to standardization of recipes and portion control to prevent food waste and control cost.
Knowledge/Skills
- Must be familiar with inventorying, cooking by recipes, quantity cooking and following written procedures.
- Food handling and sanitation.
- Knowledge of kitchen equipment usage.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred
- ServSafe Certification or Equivalent required
- One (1) year experience in a food services in a health care facility preferred
- Requires enough basic education to understand and follow standard practice or written instructions
- Ability to work a variable schedule to include some weekends
- Good physical health and good mental attitude is essential
- Stands and walks most of the day
- Handles and manipulates equipment
- Stoops and reaches for equipment, lift and carries food and kitchen equipment
- Tastes and smells food to determine quality
- Must be able to pass a Level 2 Background Screening to work in Healthcare (AHCA) and Pre-employment Drug Test
- Must be familiar with inventorying, cooking by recipes, quantity cooking and following written procedures
