Summary

Reporting to the Senior Director, Commercial Operations, the Director, Sales Training will define and lead sales training strategy for North America, ensuring DBV's Immunology field team is knowledgeable, compliant, and confident from the first day of the Viaskin® Peanut launch, pending FDA approval. This is a ground-up build: the Director will set the training vision and stand up the curricula, certification standards, and learning infrastructure that will shape how a launch-stage company equips its sales organization to compete.

Job description

This is a hands-on leadership role for a builder who pairs field credibility and scientific fluency with real expertise in adult learning, equally comfortable shaping strategy, facilitating a workshop, and navigating a medical/legal/regulatory review. Success means a certified, launch-ready field force; a training function trusted by Sales Leadership and cross-functional partners; and a measurable link between training and field performance as DBV moves toward and through commercial launch.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define, own, and evolve the North America sales training strategy and roadmap across onboarding, launch, and ongoing development, aligned to commercial strategy and launch milestones.
  • Design and oversee curricula covering disease state, Viaskin® Peanut product and clinical knowledge, the access and patient-support landscape, and core selling skills; establish certification standards and readiness gates.
  • Lead launch training and new-hire onboarding, and support national and regional sales meetings, facilitating or overseeing workshops and role-play to build applied skills.
  • Conduct field ride-alongs to observe execution, gather feedback, reinforce learning, and equip first-line managers to coach effectively.
  • Ensure all training content aligns with approved labeling and clears medical, legal, and regulatory review; maintain audit-ready training records and documentation.
  • Partner with Marketing, Medical Affairs, Market Access, and Sales Leadership to translate strategy, messaging, and data into field-ready training, and serve as a trusted advisor on field readiness and capability gaps.
  • Define and track training effectiveness measures (knowledge retention, certification, time-to-productivity) and, with Analytics and Field Operations, connect them to field performance.
  • Select and manage training vendors, learning platforms (LMS), and budget, applying sound build-vs-buy judgment and well-governed digital and AI-enabled learning tools.
  • Leverage third-party training partners and agencies to scale capacity and define the operating model that will support the field through and beyond launch.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a scientific, business, or related discipline.
  • Preferred: Advanced degree (MBA, MS, or similar) or credentials in adult learning/instructional design.
  • 8–10+ years of pharmaceutical or biotech experience, including field sales experience and 3–5 years in sales training.
  • Demonstrated success designing and delivering onboarding or launch training programs for a field sales organization.
  • Preferred: Prior launch or pre-launch experience in biotech/pharma; allergy, immunology, pediatric, rare disease, or specialty product experience a plus.
  • Preferred: Experience building a training function from the ground up and managing external training vendors or agencies to scale capacity.
  • Working knowledge of promotional compliance and the medical/legal/regulatory review process, including label-based training.
  • Strong facilitation, presentation, and written and verbal communication skills, with credibility among field personnel and senior leaders.
  • Ability to learn complex scientific and clinical content quickly and teach it clearly.
  • Comfort operating in a small, resource-constrained, and evolving organization, including a willingness to do hands-on work alongside strategic thinking.
  • Preferred: Familiarity with LMS platforms, digital learning, and AI-enabled coaching or role-play tools.

Behavioral Skills

  • Curiosity: Keep on exploring uncharted territories. Always ask "why?" and more importantly "why not?"
  • Courage: Take smart risks, mentor each other to always do better & be accountable for our choices, our opinions, and our actions.
  • Collaboration: Teamwork and spirit. Support each other and be equally involved in the achievement of our common goals.
  • Credibility: Be transparent, follow through and build trust. Educate ourselves about our unique technology.
