Summary

We have an opportunity for an Inside Sales Associate to join our team and support Catalent’s Specialty business. In this role, you will help pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies connect with micronization and inhalation development and manufacturing solutions. You will build early customer relationships, qualify opportunities, and support growth across a focused, technically differentiated portfolio. This position is home-based with minimal travel.

Job description

The Role

  • Respond promptly to inbound inquiries and conduct targeted outbound prospecting across pharmaceutical and biotechnology accounts with potential micronization or inhalation needs.
  • Engage scientific, technical, and business contacts to understand the molecule, dosage form, development stage, target particle profile, timing, funding, decision process, and broader program objectives.
  • Assess early technical and commercial fit by connecting customer requirements to relevant micronization, particle characterization, dry powder formulation, analytical, filling, packaging, and scale‑up capabilities.
  • Qualify leads using consistent criteria, document discovery clearly, and convert appropriate leads into actionable opportunities with a timely, well‑structured handoff to Business Development.
  • Build and maintain pipeline through marketing campaigns, conferences, referrals, digital channels, dormant‑lead follow‑up, and focused outreach to priority accounts and emerging programs.
  • Research target companies, molecules, therapeutic areas, development pipelines, competitive activity, and key stakeholders to develop informed outreach strategies and account‑level insights.
  • Partner with Business Development on territory and account plans, prospecting priorities, customer follow‑up, meeting preparation, and next‑step coordination throughout the early sales process.
  • Coordinate with technical subject matter experts to clarify customer requirements, prepare capability discussions, and ensure potential opportunities are aligned with the appropriate site, service, and technical team.
  • Maintain accurate and timely lead, account, contact, activity, and opportunity data in Salesforce, including qualification rationale, customer needs, next steps, and handoff status.
  • Track lead progression, identify stalled or unresponsive opportunities, support re‑engagement, and provide visibility into pipeline activity, customer feedback, and market trends.
  • Share insights with Marketing and commercial partners to improve audience targeting, campaign follow‑up, messaging, content, and overall lead‑management effectiveness.
