As a Laboratory Technician, you will perform standardized and moderately complex Hematological, Urinalysis, Microbiological, and Serological tests in a clinical laboratory.
Job description
Responsibilities
- Perform both STAT and routine testing in an accurate and timely manner
- Understand and operate test systems proficiently
- Follow laboratory procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analysis, reporting, and maintain records of patient results
- Follow established policies and procedures for quality control performance and documentation
- Perform and document scheduled and unscheduled preventative maintenance
- Calibrate, perform preventative maintenance, and troubleshoot equipment and instrument malfunctions
- Perform CAP Proficiency testing
- Communicate with medical staff and clients to ensure quality patient care
- Monitor laboratory supply levels and assist in reordering and inventorying supplies
- Comply with all relevant safety and infection control policies and procedures
- Receive patient reports and supply reports to Doctors, APRNs, PAs and RNs
Required Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or GED
- Certified in Phlebotomy
- Experience working in a Medical Laboratory
