Job description
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a superuser for the EMA ModMed system, providing guidance to both providers and medical assistants (MAs) regarding system functionalities and troubleshooting.
- Mentor and train new MAs, helping them to acclimate to the clinic’s procedures and patient care standards.
- Monitor and optimize patient flow within the clinic by reallocating staff as necessary during peak times.
- Ensure that the clinical team efficiently manages patient appointments, assists with procedures, and maintains clear communication with patients regarding their care.
- Oversee inventory management of medical supplies, ensuring that all necessary materials are stocked and organized.
- Support the Practice Manager by addressing patient complaints and operational issues, conducting research to provide informed solutions.
- Facilitate compliance with safety and infection control standards, maintaining a clean and orderly clinical environment.
- Assist in documenting clinical interactions and patient information accurately in the EHR
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent; completion of a formal medical assistant program is preferred.
- 2-3 years of recent experience in a clinical role, ideally within a dermatology or cosmetic practice.
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) is a plus.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively interact with patients and clinical staff.
- Strong organizational abilities with a keen attention to detail in managing multiple tasks.
- Proficient in using electronic health record systems and medical software.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and best practices in patient care.
