Responsible for ensuring the safety of all individuals in the aquatic therapy pool and related facilities. This role involves monitoring pool activities, enforcing safety rules, and providing emergency response as needed.
Essential Functions
- Continuously observe pool activities to ensure the safety of all participants.
- Enforce all safety regulations and policies to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Respond promptly and effectively to emergencies, providing first aid and CPR as needed.
- Maintain a calm and professional demeanor during emergency situations.
- Assist in the upkeep of the pool area, including monitoring water quality and cleanliness.
- Ensure that all safety equipment is in proper working order.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or Equivalent required. Experience in lieu of a degree accepted.
Lifeguarding [ARC] - American Red Cross required.
Experience as a lifeguard, preferably in a healthcare or therapeutic setting, 1-2 years preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Proficient communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure and respond to emergencies.
- Physical fitness and the ability to swim proficiently.
- Knowledge of first aid, aquatic first aid and general safety.
Requirements
