Summary

As a Manager, Digital Connectivity on the Digital Connectivity Director's team, you will be primarily responsible for providing hands-on expertise across Alcon's complete connected ecosystem — spanning equipment, software, integrations, and the broader technology and data landscape. This role owns complex connectivity and integration, problem-solving, maps the customer's ecosystem, and safeguards interoperability across the enterprise.

Job description

Working hand in hand with the ACE team's Onboarding Specialist, the role maps each customer's ecosystem and supports the technical aspects of installations. It also manages the business aspects of release management — testing new functionality from the customer's perspective and providing the required approval before any new functionality or upgrade is accepted. This is a specialist depth role delivering significant, cross-functional impact through expertise and influence rather than people leadership.

In this role, a typical day will include:

  • Customer Ecosystem Mapping: Works hand in hand with the ACE team's Onboarding Specialist to map each customer's complete ecosystem — systems, dependencies, and end-to-end data flows across the enterprise.
  • Installation Support: Supports the technical aspects of customer installations, ensuring connectivity and interoperability are established cleanly across equipment, software, and integrations.
  • Release Management (Business Ownership): Manages the business aspects of release management — coordinating readiness, sequencing, and sign-off across the ecosystem for new functionality and upgrades.
  • Product Testing & Customer-Perspective Validation: Tests the product before it is put in front of a customer, evaluating it from the customer's perspective; provides the required approval before any new functionality or upgrade is accepted.
  • Interoperability & Connectivity: Owns connectivity health across Alcon's complete ecosystem — equipment, software, and integrations — including EHR/EMR connectivity and technical data-flow mapping.
  • Integration Standards: Applies and helps govern HL7, FHIR, API, and SOAP integration standards under the direction of the Technical Director; contributes to integration frameworks and reusable connectivity solutions.
  • Technical Expertise & Field Support: Provides specialist technical guidance to the field, customers, and internal stakeholders, translating technical complexity into clear, actionable direction.
  • Documentation & Standards: Documents ecosystem maps, connectivity configurations, integration patterns, and troubleshooting playbooks so knowledge is captured and repeatable across the team.
