The Role
As a Manager on the IKC Account Management team, you are the external representative of DaVita’s value-based care business to our care partners, which include health plans, accountable care organizations (ACOs), and health systems. Your scope includes communicating program performance through both internal and external executive forums, surfacing and pursuing opportunities for performance improvement, and providing support for sustainable growth of IKC’s value-based care partnerships. This is a highly visible role working with executive leadership across DaVita and conducting regular meetings with external stakeholders and senior counterparts at our partner organizations. You will own business development for existing accounts and collaborate with the broader negotiating team.
Core Responsibilities
- Growth, Extensions, and Expansions: Identify, develop, and pursue expansion opportunities within assigned accounts against defined growth targets. Support contract extensions and renewals with performance context, partner intelligence, and commercial framing. Partner with the Business Development Director and negotiating team on strategy for assigned accounts.
- Joint Operating Committee (JOC) Leadership: Own the end-to-end JOC cycle across assigned accounts, including cadence, standing agenda, and preparation timeline. Construct the performance narrative presented to partners: synthesize clinical, actuarial, and financial results into a coherent case, communicate outcomes, and position new clinical programs and pilots to build partner confidence. Convene clinical, actuarial, finance, and risk adjustment stakeholders to secure inputs on deadline; and reconcile conflicting figures before they reach the partner. Lead internal pre-reads with executive leadership, facilitate the JOC, and drive follow-ups to closure.
- Account Ownership: Serve as the accountable owner for assigned accounts, including relationship health and partner experience. Maintain working command of contract terms and interpret performance results for payor-facing use. Route net-new partner requests through the established intake path and represent IKC priorities/requests to payors. Build and maintain durable account documentation, including contract summaries, stakeholder maps, and JOC playbooks.
- Team Leadership: Manage, develop, and set clear objectives and expectations for the teammates supporting your portfolio. Coach individuals based on their unique development needs, and foster an environment of psychological safety that clears the path for their professional growth.
