Overview
Sentara is hiring a PRN/Flexi Pharmacy Technician for our brand new Outpatient Pharmacy at Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center in Woodbridge, VA.
Location: Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center - Woodbridge, VA. Status: Flexi/PRN. Shift/Hours: Rotating PRN, open 9am-7pm Monday through Friday, closed weekends and major holidays.
Responsibilities
- Performs care delivery and dispensing under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist or licensed independent practitioner
- Fills and delivers medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist/licensed independent practitioner
- Ensures adequate supplies are available for continuous patient care
- Triages and escalates any questions or issues outside the pharmacy technician's scope of practice as needed
- Uses appropriate systems for processing patient information
- Ensures quality assurance is maintained according to departmental and legal requirements
- Operates pharmacy equipment appropriately
- Other duties may be assigned
Qualifications
- A pharmacy technician license is required in the state of practice
- Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Certification/Licensure: Virginia Pharmacy Tech License (Required)
- CPhT License (Received through the NHA or PTCB) (Required)
- Experience: One Year Pharmacy Tech Experience (Preferred)
