Summary
We are seeking an energetic, Full-Time Pharmacy Technician to become part of our West Chester, OH team. This position is specifically for the overnight hours, scheduled 7 days on/ 7 days off.
Job description
Essential Functions
- Data entry of physician orders and E-kit usage into the dispensing system
- Managing admissions paperwork
- Assist Pharmacist with input (when appropriate), filling and dispensing of all prescriptions
- Perform all filling and / or IV compounding of prescriptions with accuracy and reasonable speed
- Fill prescriptions per rules and regulations of all regulatory entities
- Answer telephone calls, assist caller when appropriate, or enlist Pharmacist to assist if appropriate
- Prepare medications to be delivered to facility per delivery schedule
- Assist with ordering of medications from wholesaler along with proper inventory management
- Assist with Medication Returns and E-Kit management
Physical Demands
- Must be able to routinely use standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines
- Must be able to constantly operate a computer and other office equipment up to 100% of the time
- Regularly required to talk and hear in order to communicate effectively over the phone and in person
- Must be able to see 100% of the time to recognize medications, detect inaccuracies, and observe the work of others with or without correction
- This position is very active and requires standing for long periods, walking, bending, kneeling, reaching and stooping
- Must be able to lift and/or transport materials weighing up to 25 pounds, up to 10% of the time
- Must be able to tolerate normal office/pharmacy environment and exposure to various medications
Requirements
- Certified registered technician in good standing with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy
- Prior long-term care pharmacy data entry is a plus
- Ability to stand for long periods, walk, bend, kneel, reach and stoop
- Ability to lift and/or transport materials weighing up to 25 pounds
- Ability to operate standard office and pharmacy equipment
