Job Summary
Two Postdoctoral Positions in the Song Lab. The Song Lab at Mass General Hospital and Harvard Medical School invites applications for two postdoctoral researchers to join a funded "AI for AD" project focused on using AI-assisted de novo protein designs to detect and control misfolded protein species in AD.
The successful candidate will characterize these de novo protein designs, using biochemistry, cell biology, and human tissue/biofluid pathology to advance our understanding of targeting AD related protein misfolding. The position offers opportunities to develop independent research directions, collaborate with the neurodegeneration team at MGH, and contribute to publications and other research outputs.
Responsibilities
- Design and conduct research aligned with the project's aims.
- Develop and apply experimental, computational, and theoretical methods focused on protein misfolding and neurodegeneration.
- Communicate findings through publications and conference presentations.
- Collaborate with lab members and cross-lab/institute colleagues and contribute to mentoring junior researchers.
Qualifications
Applicants should hold, or be close to completing, a Ph.D. in biochemistry, cell biology, or neuroscience. We seek candidates with strong research skills, demonstrated experience in protein biochemistry and biophysics, neuronal biology, and AD pathology, and an interest in AI-neuro crosstalk. Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively are essential.
Position details
The position is based at MassGeneral Institute of Neurodegenerative Diseases at Mass General Brigham and Harvard Medical School, with a flexible start date. Funding is available for 2-5 years. Compensation and benefits will follow institutional policy.
