Summary

A Postdoctoral Fellow position is available for a highly motivated and independent scientist to develop novel single cell and spatial omics platforms to screen next generation complex human in vitro models in order to accelerate target discovery. The candidate will develop new experimental and computational methods to characterize cellular responses to perturbations and generate high-dimensional datasets that enable a deeper understanding of disease biology.

Job description

This is a hands-on position for a scientist passionate about assay development as well as engaging in state-of-the-art computational tools, including and especially AI. You will join a collaborative, cross-disciplinary environment and will have the opportunity to contribute to high-impact scientific publications.

The Opportunity

  • Novel Assay Development: Develop scalable measurement tools to acquire molecular, imaging and functional readouts from perturbation studies in in vitro complex models
  • Large-Scale Screening: Design and execute multimodal functional genomics screens to investigate mechanisms underlying disease cellular and tissue states
  • Computational Methods: Collaborate with computational biologists and AI scientists to develop approaches for integrating and interpreting multimodal data, and explore predictive modeling strategies to power Lab-in-the-Loop
  • Collaborative Research: Collaborate productively with experimental and computational scientists across labs and departments, present your work to project teams, and contribute to high-impact scientific publications
  • Professional Development: Join Genentech's postdoctoral training program, which provides an outstanding environment and the opportunity to pursue fundamental scientific questions while building methods that drive breakthrough discoveries in drug development
