Education
PhD or MD required in molecular biology, biochemistry, cell biology, genetics, physiology, pharmacology, biomedical engineering, neuroscience, or a related field.
Experience
Prior laboratory research experience is required, with evidence of strong scientific productivity including at least one first-author peer-reviewed SCI publication. The laboratory is recruiting two Postdoctoral Research Fellows with complementary expertise.
Position 1 (Molecular / RNA Biology) requires a solid background in molecular and cell biology and proficiency in standard molecular techniques; experience with non-coding RNA is preferred, and familiarity with next-generation sequencing (RNA-seq / small RNA-seq) library preparation or bioinformatic analysis, gene editing (CRISPR/Cas), and primary-cell or iPSC culture is a plus.
Position 2 (In Vivo / Surgical) requires hands-on in vivo experience, particularly microsurgical skills in rodent models of cardiac or kidney disease (e.g., myocardial infarction, transverse aortic constriction (TAC), ischemia-reperfusion injury; renal ischemia-reperfusion, unilateral ureteral obstruction (UUO), or 5/6 nephrectomy); experience with drug administration (including tail-vein, intrapericardial, renal-capsular, and local delivery), echocardiography or cardiac / renal functional assessment, and tissue harvesting and phenotyping is preferred.
Open to highly motivated candidates with a relevant background. The secondary appointment will be at Harvard Medical School.
Supervisory Responsibility
