Summary

As the Principal Business Systems Analyst for the Test Compendium, you will serve as the senior technical and analytical owner for the technical design and business process enablement of NeoGenomics' enterprise Test Compendium data model—the governed source of truth for master test and product data that feeds NeoLIMS, Billing, Analytics, the website, and downstream clinical and operational systems. This role translates business requirements into clear technical specifications, user requirement specifications (URS), data-model designs, Jira-ready stories, and release-ready work for developer execution.

Job description

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary collector and translator of business needs into detailed functional and technical requirements, including user requirement specifications (URS), data-model designs, user stories, acceptance criteria, and developer-ready specifications
  • Own and evolve the Test Compendium data model—its tables, relationships, hierarchies, attributes, metadata, and related workflows—ensuring consistency, scalability, traceability, and data integrity across all environments
  • Provide overall platform strategy and advisory guidance, evaluating design trade-offs, managing technical debt, and ensuring the Test Compendium architecture aligns with enterprise systems and long-term business goals
  • Partner with the Enterprise Master Data Management team and Program Manager to shape and prioritize the Test Compendium roadmap, contributing technical feasibility, sequencing, level-of-effort estimates, and risk/dependency analysis
  • Manage and oversee developer work for the Test Compendium, providing technical direction, design oversight, configuration guidance, code/configuration reviews, and quality direction to ensure work is delivered and deployed during planned release windows

Experience, Education and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in a technical, data, information systems, life sciences, or business field
  • 12+ years of experience in business systems analysis, data modeling, or technical platform/application ownership
  • Healthcare, clinical laboratory, or diagnostics IT experience strongly preferred
  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time
  • Demonstrated experience translating business requirements into technical specifications, URS documentation, data-model designs, user stories, and acceptance criteria
  • Experience owning or configuring a complex enterprise data platform or master-data/reference-data system (specific platform experience not required; ability to learn the platform is essential)
  • Experience partnering with business stakeholders on roadmap and prioritization, and with developers on delivery
  • Strong data-modeling and systems-design skills, with the ability to design for accessibility, efficiency, scalability, and data quality
  • Proven ability to decompose business needs into functional and technical requirements with clear traceability
  • Solid understanding of system integrations, APIs, and data-distribution patterns between enterprise systems
