Job description
Responsibilities
- Provides direct patient care as prescribed by the physician and treatment team
- Provides medical management and assessment of patients
- Ensures environmental safety and crisis management for the patient population
- Directs the implementation of behavior management programs and ensures consistent carry-through
- Makes patient and task assignments to subordinates and monitors their duties
- Provides training and education to staff, patients, and families
- Documents patient care and ensures data is accurate and included in the master treatment plan via timely nursing care plan updates
- Works with the treatment team to provide consistently therapeutic milieu
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited nursing school
- Associates degree in nursing required, Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Tennessee required
- Nursing experience in the behavioral health field preferred
- One year inpatient psychiatric experience with adults and adolescents preferred
- CPR certification (training provided)
- Handle with Care (HWC) certification (training provided)
