Job Summary
The R&D Scientist I plays a critical role in driving experimental execution and innovation within NGS platforms for diagnostic enhancements. This position requires skillsets in experimental design, execution, data interpretation, and technical documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and perform specific experiments in support of R&D projects in NGS, Molecular or Cell Biology platforms
- Work with clinical team to validate and transfer tests to clinical diagnostic workflows
- Work with Product Development Team to plan and execute R&D strategies
- Assist with laboratory training and education of external team
- Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Perform clinical tests as needed after proper training
- Prepare validation materials for review in adherence to regulatory agencies and requirements
- Conduct routine lab duties as assigned by R&D supervisor
Requirements
Required: Education: Ph.D. in Biological Sciences. Experience: Experience in molecular biology techniques.
Competencies
- Demonstrated success in technical documentation
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues that arise during test design, optimization and validation
- Bioinformatics skills and knowledge is a plus
