Company overview
Theradaptive, Inc. is a privately held, clinical-stage biotechnology company headquartered in Frederick, Maryland, pioneering targeted protein therapeutics for tissue regeneration. Founded by Dr. Luis Alvarez, the company leverages a proprietary therapeutic delivery platform, licensed from the U.S. Department of Defense, that converts recombinant proteins into material-binding variants capable of being applied in a paint-like manner to implants, devices, and injectable carriers for precise, sustained local delivery with minimal off-target effects. Its lead investigational therapeutic, OsteoAdapt SP, is powered by AMP2, a proprietary rhBMP-2 variant engineered to promote targeted bone regeneration. Theradaptive is advancing programs across spine, orthopedics, dental, and soft tissue repair, as well as immuno-oncology. The company has received FDA approval to initiate a pivotal Phase 3 trial (OASIS) for spinal fusion and has secured strategic partnerships, including with Alphatec Holdings. It has raised significant venture funding and expanded into a new 28,000-square-foot facility.
