The Opportunity

The Real-time Visual Analytics Lead is responsible for driving the strategic direction, delivery excellence, and capability development of the Real-time Visual Analytics function within Early Development Biometrics. This role leads a team of Real-time Visual Analytics Specialists who create and manage interactive, study-level dashboards that enable high-quality Medical Data Review (MDR) and safety signal detection, aligned with Risk-Based Quality Management (RBQM) principles and Critical to Quality (CtQ) endpoints.

As the Real-time Visual Analytics Lead, you will oversee the portfolio-wide implementation of visualization strategy, ensuring timely, scalable, and scientifically aligned delivery across early-phase studies. You will collaborate closely with biometrics leadership and clinical stakeholders to evolve visualization standards, guide implementation timelines, and optimize internal frameworks and tooling. You will also be responsible for talent development, process harmonization, and fostering a high-performing team culture focused on user-centered visual analytics, scientific rigor, and operational efficiency.

  • Define and lead the visual analytics strategy for early-phase clinical studies, ensuring alignment with Medical Data Review Plans (MDRPs), Critical to Quality (CtQ) endpoints, and Risk-Based Quality Management (RBQM) principles
  • Oversee the development, standardization, and continuous improvement of data visualization templates, modules, and tools used across early and late development programs
  • Ensure timely, high-quality delivery of visual analytics solutions by aligning implementation with key study milestones such as First Patient In, cohort reviews, or safety data review committee meetings
  • Collaborate with biometrics and clinical leaders to prioritize visual analytics workstreams based on study complexity, safety considerations, and decision-critical timelines
  • Guide the integration of CRF and non-CRF data sources into visualization workflows, ensuring scalability, traceability, and scientific relevance
  • Lead the evolution of best practices for visual analytics design, interactivity, user experience, and compliance with Roche standards
  • Serve as a key interface for real-time visual analytics in cross-functional forums, contributing to data strategy, digital enablement, and clinical insights generation initiatives
  • Monitor industry trends and internal feedback to evaluate and adopt new tools, platforms, or visualization approaches that enhance the function's impact
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Real-time Visual Analytics Specialists, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities and fostering a culture of scientific excellence, innovation, and continuous learning
  • Define clear expectations, performance goals, and development pathways to support career progression and technical growth within the visual analytics discipline
  • Promote knowledge-sharing, peer review, and collaborative problem-solving across the team to maintain high-quality, reproducible visual analytics practices
  • Ensure appropriate resourcing, workload balancing, and delivery timelines across studies and programs based on complexity, risk, and business needs
  • Partner with Early Development Biometrics leadership to evolve the role of Real-time Visual Analytics Specialists, contribute to long-term capability planning, and support future-state design
  • Collaborate with People & Culture (P&C) to attract, retain, and onboard diverse talent with expertise in clinical data visualization, user-centered design, and analytics tooling
  • Model Roche's leadership commitments by fostering psychological safety, promoting open feedback, and empowering team members to lead from every seat
