Summary

The Demand Forecasting & Analytics Manager is responsible for developing multivariate monthly demand forecasts and delivering analytical insights that support the generic injectable portfolio. This hands-on role combines forecasting expertise with the ability to build and maintain Power BI dashboards, advanced Excel models, SQL queries, and automated Alteryx workflows. This role will partner with Supply Chain, Sales, Commercial Operations, Contracting, Finance, and IT to align forecasts, identify risks and opportunities, and support data-driven business decisions.

Job description

Essential Functions

  • Power BI Dashboard Development and Management: Design, publish, and maintain interactive Power BI reports and dashboards for demand, shipments, forecast accuracy, inventory, and customer performance; connect Power BI to databases, on-premises sources through data gateways, and cloud data sources; configure and maintain connections and scheduled refreshes in partnership with IT; monitor refresh performance and troubleshoot connection, credential, gateway, and data quality issues; use SQL to query, filter, aggregate, and join source datasets; use Power Query to prepare data and Model view to create and manage table relationships, cardinality, and filter direction; apply working knowledge of DAX to create measures and calculated columns for KPIs, forecast variances, trends, and time-based comparisons; maintain documented KPI definitions, validate report results, and manage appropriate access with business owners and IT
  • Monthly Demand Forecasting: Develop and maintain rolling monthly forecasts using multivariate methods, including multiple regression and time-series models with multiple business drivers; incorporate historical shipments, customer ordering trends, seasonality, contract changes, customer commitments, wholesaler inventory, competitive supply disruptions, and product launches into forecast assumptions; account for backorders, allocations, stockouts, and supply interruptions so constrained shipments do not understate underlying demand; lead monthly forecast reviews, reconcile statistical forecasts with commercial input, and communicate changes and scenarios to Supply Chain and leadership; measure forecast accuracy and bias at appropriate product and customer levels, including volume-weighted error measures; use backtesting and variance analysis to improve model performance
  • Wholesaler and Customer Demand Analytics: Analyze direct outbound shipments alongside wholesaler purchases, inventory movements, and downstream customer shipments or indirect sales data, where available; identify stocking changes, order timing shifts, demand spikes, customer gains or losses, and potential supply gaps that affect monthly forecasts; reconcile product/NDC and customer identifiers, units of measure, and reporting periods across data sources; prevent duplicate counting of shipments as they move through the distribution channel; present clear explanations of forecast changes and recommend actions to support inventory planning, customer service, and commercial decisions
  • Advanced Excel Modeling and Reporting: Build and maintain complex Excel workbooks, forecasting models, scenario analyses, and interactive dashboards using advanced formulas, PivotTables, charts, and Power Query; design reusable templates with clear assumptions, input controls, and validation checks to support monthly planning and ad hoc analysis
  • Create and maintain Alteryx workflows to extract, cleanse, transform, join, and validate data from multiple sources for forecasting and reporting; automate recurring data flows and alerts for forecast deviations, unusual demand, inventory exceptions, data quality failures, and workflow errors; schedule and monitor workflows through available Alteryx Server or scheduling capabilities, troubleshoot failures, and document dependencies and recovery procedures; continuously reduce manual reporting effort while improving data accuracy, timeliness, and consistency
