Security Officer - Wickenburg - Full-time

Position Summary

Assist in providing a safe and secure environment for patients and staff.

Responsibilities

• Promotes patient safety through awareness of the environment of care and in all actions that involve patient care. Communicates patient safety issues quickly, clearly and effectively with other staff members.
• Assists in the implementation of security protocols and campus safety. May attend the Nursing report sessions to become more familiar with patient community issues.
• Makes rounds and inspections at a minimum of one time per hour to check and secure campus buildings, recreation, and other public areas. Makes visual checks "in-person" contact with direct patient care staff throughout work hours. Notifies supervisor of any conditions or incidents affecting staff and/or patient safety.
• Provides intervention and/or crowd control and direction on any situation of concern for the safety and welfare of patients, staff, visitors, and vendors. Is familiar with all emergency and Disaster Preparedness policies.
• May assist in the investigation of criminal activities involving patients and assists administration with prosecution as appropriate.
• Completes security logs and incidents report in a timely manner prior to leaving shift.

Qualifications: Education and Experience

• High school diploma or general education diploma (GED) required
• CPI, CPR / First Aid
• Valid State Drivers License
• Peace Officer or professional security experience and/or training preferred
