Summary

At Jazz Pharmaceuticals, our strategy is bold and clear: to transform the lives of patients by delivering innovative therapies in our core strategic areas, including epilepsy, sleep, oncology, and rare disease. The Global Pricing & Access (GP&A) team is responsible for integrating payer value requirements, pricing corridor logic, and market access strategies into early-stage pipeline assets and clinical trial design to maximize global commercial success.

Job description

We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Manager, Global Pricing & Access who is excited about the Jazz vision and ready to join a fast-paced environment to do challenging, impactful work that could transform Jazz's pipeline trajectory. In this role, you will support our efforts to shape and execute global pricing and access strategies across Jazz's core therapeutic pipeline areas—including Oncology (hematology and solid tumors), EMD (Epilepsy & Movement Disorders), and Sleep (rare sleep disorders)—as well as external assets being evaluated for licensing or acquisition. This is a high-visibility, hands-on position offering a steep learning curve, acting as a key liaison with regional market access colleagues, and representing Pricing & Access within Commercial Functional Matrix Teams (FMTs).

Essential Functions

Global Pricing Analytics, Competitive Intelligence & Policy Monitoring

  • Global Policy & Governance Reporting: Monitor pricing, reimbursement, and healthcare policy trends and developments across key global markets (including the U.S., Europe, and Japan), translating insights into strategic pricing recommendations and governance materials for senior leadership and internal committees (e.g., Portfolio Governance Committee / PGC).
  • Pricing & Market Access Trend Evaluation: Continuously evaluate emerging global market pricing & access dynamics, reimbursement trends, formulary management practices, U.S. PBM/payer coverage tiers, contracting/rebate dynamics, and institutional access pathways to evaluate implications on ROI and refine pricing and access assumptions for pipeline and in-line assets.
  • Payer Research & Advisory Boards: Conduct secondary pricing research and direct primary payer advisory boards to benchmark competitive pricing strategies, rebate structures, contracting approaches, and market access practices.
  • Landscape & Value Drivers Analysis: Analyze global pricing and reimbursement landscapes and trends to identify therapeutic area- and country-specific opportunities, risks, drivers, and barriers, informing value propositions, development decisions, and launch sequencing strategies.
  • Competitor Intelligence & Scenario Planning: Monitor competitor pricing, access, and commercialization activities, incorporating anticipated market actions into pricing strategies, forecast assumptions, and scenario planning.
  • Quantitative Financial Modeling: Develop and maintain advanced pricing and access models, including price elasticity assessments, gross-to-net (GTN) estimates, revenue erosion forecasts, and pricing scenario evaluations.
  • Legislative Policy Impact Assessment: Assess the impact of evolving global legislative, regulatory, and reimbursement policies—including the U.S. Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), Medicare Best Price rules, European Joint HTA regulations, and other market-specific pricing reforms—on short- and long-term pricing, access, and financial forecasts.

Pipeline Cross-Functional Matrix Management (Oncology, EMD, Sleep)

  • Collaborate with global strategic market insights (GSMI), global value/HEOR, and the U.S. and EUR/INT teams to design and execute pricing, access, and reimbursement market research studies to inform competitive landscape assessments, go-to-market strategies, and global pricing guidance.
  • Support operational alignment within commercial Functional Matrix Teams (cFMTs) to translate commercial payer requirements into actionable considerations.
  • Support global pricing and access partnership with the US Market Access Commercial Teams and EUR/INT Teams, maintaining structured collaboration across three key franchises – Oncology, EMD (Epilepsy & Movement Disorders), Sleep (Narcolepsy).
  • Advise FMT on the access/payer perspective on trial endpoints, active comparators, utilization management policies, competitive landscape dynamics, and evidence generation that supports specialty/orphan pricing and global access risks accounting for global access dynamics.
  • Support the global pricing & access strategy’s proactive efforts to advise on pricing and access risks for pipeline assets with collaboration with R&D, Clinical Operations, Medical Affairs, Global Strategic Market Insights (GSMI), and Global Value/HEOR to integrate payer requirements into Phase 2b/3 trial designs, active comparator selections, Patient-Reported Outcomes (PROs), and Quality-of-Life (QoL) endpoints and advise on evidence packages that meet global reimbursement standards.

New Product Planning (NPP) Pricing Support

  • In-Licensing & M&A Evaluations: Partner closely with New Product Planning (NPP) and Corporate Development teams supporting global pricing, market access and GTN evaluations for targeted in-licensing opportunities, and M&A activities.
  • Pricing Heatmap Assessments: Evaluate Target Product Profiles (TPPs) for global pricing potential, providing pricing heatmap assessments, launch sequencing guidance, and Gross-to-Net (GTN) impact estimates for executive review.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced scientific degree (PhD/MD/PharmD) strongly preferred.
  • Prior experience in global pricing, market access, commercial strategy, HEOR, or consulting within the biopharmaceutical industry. 6+ years post bachelor’s degree or 3+ years with graduate/advanced degree.
  • Direct experience with Oncology, Neurology/Neuroscience, Epilepsy, or Sleep Medicine is strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of global pricing and market access environments and trends, including technical understanding of US payer archetypes (PBMs, IDNs, Commercial, Medicare/Medicaid GTN dynamics), ex-US market access environments (EURINT HTA bodies), evolving regulatory policies (e.g., US Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), Most Favored Nation (MFN) pricing agenda, European reimbursement policies (JCA)) as well as commercial knowledge surrounding oncology, neurology, and other specialty/rare therapeutic areas.
