Job description

Summary of Position

Scholar Rock is seeking a Senior Director, Infrastructure & IT Operations to lead and scale the technology infrastructure and IT operations supporting our growing global organization.

Scholar Rock is looking for a leader who is equally comfortable building the roadmap and rolling up their sleeves to deliver it. This individual brings strong technical judgment, a high sense of ownership, and a service mindset and knows how to build an IT organization that is scalable as the company grows.

This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for the reliability, scalability, and day-to-day operation of Scholar Rock’s IT environment across the U.S. and international locations. The successful candidate will set direction, build and develop the team, and remain close enough to the technology and business to solve problems and drive execution.

This leader will strengthen the capabilities we need today while building the infrastructure and operating model required to support Scholar Rock’s continued growth and global commercialization.

Position Responsibilities

  • Own Scholar Rock’s global IT infrastructure and operations, including cloud and Microsoft platforms, networks, identity, endpoints, collaboration technologies, and end-user computing
  • Lead IT service delivery and end-user support, ensuring responsive, reliable support and a strong employee technology experience
  • Build scalable infrastructure, operating processes, and standards to support continued growth and an expanding global footprint
  • Drive operational excellence and reliability, including incident and problem management, root-cause resolution, monitoring, technology lifecycle management, capacity planning, and continuous improvement
  • Ensure appropriate business continuity, disaster recovery, backup, and infrastructure resilience capabilities are established, tested, and maintained
  • Lead technology infrastructure and operational readiness for new offices and international expansion
  • Build and develop a high-performing team with strong technical capability, clear accountability, documented processes, and appropriate coverage and redundancy across critical services
  • Own managed service providers and key technology vendors, establishing clear performance expectations, service levels, cost and accountability
  • Partner across IT and the business to ensure infrastructure and operations meet security, compliance, and business requirements
  • Serve as a trusted technology partner to the business while remaining hands-on and engaged in execution, particularly for complex issues and critical incidents
  • Own the Infrastructure & IT Operations budget, including technology investments, licensing, managed services, and vendor contracts, balancing service, scalability, and cost
  • Ensure infrastructure and operational practices support applicable GxP, SOX, security, privacy, and audit-readiness requirements, in partnership with Quality, Security, and Compliance

Candidate Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline
  • 12+ years of progressive IT experience with leadership responsibility across infrastructure and IT operations/service delivery
  • Strong technical knowledge across Microsoft 365/Azure, identity and access, endpoint management, networking, cloud technologies, and enterprise IT operations
  • Demonstrated experience building and scaling IT capabilities, teams, and operating models in a growing organization
  • Experience supporting a geographically distributed or global organization
  • Proven ability to lead internal teams and external service providers while maintaining clear internal ownership and accountability
  • Strong operational judgment with a willingness to engage directly when needed
  • Biotechnology, pharmaceutical, life sciences, or other regulated-industry experience preferred
