Summary

The Sr IT Business Analyst, Digital Communications, will translate business needs, customer journeys, and product direction into clear, validated, and technically implementable requirements. You will work directly with business users to understand processes and use cases, document requirements, identify dependencies, and ensure requirements remain aligned as solutions move from discovery through implementation.

Job description

As a Senior IT Business Analyst – Digital Communications, you will support the delivery and continued expansion of MiniMed's digital customer communication capabilities, with a strong focus on SMS. Working closely with Digital Technical Global Communications lead, this role will translate business needs, customer journeys, and product direction into clear, validated, and technically implementable requirements. You will work directly with business users to understand processes and use cases, document requirements, identify dependencies, and ensure requirements remain aligned as solutions move from discovery through implementation.

The role will work across Digital Technology (DT), Commercial, Marketing, Quality, Architecture, Legal, Privacy, and external vendor partners across U.S. and OUS markets. You will also work closely with technology delivery leads, platform owners, developers, and QA teams to support successful development, testing, release, and stabilization of digital communication capabilities.

The ideal candidate understands end-to-end customer journeys and business processes from a digital communications perspective, particularly SMS, and can bridge the gap between business users and technical delivery teams. Experience in a regulated healthcare or life sciences environment and familiarity with HIPAA, TCPA, privacy, consent, and communication preference requirements is highly desirable. Experience with the Salesforce ecosystem, particularly Salesforce Marketing Cloud and Salesforce CRM capabilities supporting digital communications and customer engagement, is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Product Manager and business stakeholders to understand digital communication needs, customer journeys, business processes, and desired outcomes.
  • Lead detailed requirements gathering and analysis for digital communication initiatives, with a primary focus on SMS.
  • Translate business needs and product direction into clear business and functional requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, and end-to-end scenarios that can be implemented by technical teams.
  • Work directly with business users across MiniMed to validate requirements, business rules, customer journeys, and expected outcomes before development.
  • Ensure approved Legal, Privacy, Quality, consent, and regulatory requirements are accurately incorporated into detailed business and technical requirements.
  • Understand applicable HIPAA, TCPA, privacy, consent, and communication preference considerations sufficiently to identify when requirements or proposed changes may require additional review or clarification.
  • Document current-state and future-state business processes and customer journeys to support solution design and implementation.
  • Identify and document business rules, exception scenarios, data requirements, integration needs, upstream and downstream dependencies, and operational impacts.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to identify and stay ahead of cross-team dependencies, decisions, risks, and deliverables that could impact implementation timelines.
  • Partner with Architecture, platform owners, technology delivery leads, developers, QA teams, data teams, and external vendors to clarify requirements throughout solution design and development.
  • Support Product Management with backlog development and refinement, ensuring requirements and acceptance criteria are sufficiently defined and ready for technical delivery.
  • Maintain requirement traceability and ensure changes, decisions, and dependencies are documented and communicated to impacted teams.
  • Support technical delivery leads and platform owners in preparing digital communication capabilities for testing, release, and production deployment.
  • Develop end-to-end test scenarios and partner with QA and business users to ensure testing adequately validates business requirements and customer journeys.
  • Coordinate and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including test preparation, business user coordination, defect triage, requirement clarification, and validation of fixes.
  • Support release readiness activities, including confirmation of requirements, business validation, dependencies, testing completion, and outstanding risks or defects.
  • Provide business and requirement support during go-live and post-production stabilization, helping teams quickly evaluate defects or unexpected behavior against approved requirements.
  • Support multiple concurrent initiatives across U.S. and OUS markets while maintaining visibility into requirements, dependencies, testing, and delivery status.
  • Identify opportunities to improve and standardize requirements, processes, and digital communication experiences across MiniMed.
