The Opportunity
Avantor is seeking a Sr. Maintenance Technician for our Aurora, OH location. Under limited supervision, installs, maintains, and repairs manufacturing equipment and fixtures. Conducts general maintenance activities primarily on machinery and related equipment. Maintains repair and maintenance records. Troubleshoots problems and escalates the most complex issues.
How you will thrive
- Maintains building electrical system, heating and cooling equipment.
- Performs maintenance or general carpentry on items such as doors, floors, docks, overhead doors, roof downspouts, product racks, etc.
- Performs preventative maintenance on material handling equipment and production equipment.
- Completes required reports when maintenance tasks are concluded.
- Answers security alarm calls as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Environmental Working Conditions & Physical Effort
The associate is exposed to an industrial warehouse environment, works near moving mechanical machinery with usually loud noise levels, works at heights, is exposed to changes in temperature, drives equipment, and may be exposed to dust, fumes, or gases.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Technical School preferred
- 3 years applicable direct experience in a similar position
- Skills in mathematics, personal computers and related applications are vital
- Interpersonal and communication skills are important
- Knowledge of HVAC systems preferred
