Job description
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Study production orders to ascertain type and quantity of product and other packaging requirements.
- Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.
- Interprets specifications and job orders to workers and assigns duties.
- Observe packaging operations.
- Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
- Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
- Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of work crew.
- Analyze and resolve work problems or assist workers in solving work problems.
- Initiate or suggest plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
- Maintain time and production records.
- Confer with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Directly supervises 20 to 60 employees in the Production Department. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Preferred / Required Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
