Technical Feasibility Specialist - NAM RIS
Roche
Summary
The Technical Feasibility Specialist - NAM RIS will serve as the customer-facing technical feasibility owner for assigned Roche Information Solutions (RIS) opportunities in North America (NAM), leading technical discovery, solution design, feasibility assessment, and implementation readiness within Digital Business Manager (DBM)-led customer motions.
Job description
This is a field-based role. The territory is the United States. Candidates must reside within 50 miles of a major metropolitan airport. Up to 50% travel is required.
What You Will Do
- Technical discovery and qualification: Lead structured technical discovery across customer IT, informatics, laboratory systems, security, and infrastructure stakeholders; documents technical requirements, data availability, interfaces, dependencies, constraints, and assumptions required to assess solution feasibility.
- Solution design and architecture: Develop solution designs for assigned opportunities, including integration approach, data flows, interfaces, infrastructure and deployment requirements, security dependencies, and implementation considerations; align proposed architecture with established RIS technical standards and escalate exceptions when needed.
- Technical feasibility and risk: Evaluate technical viability before customer commitments are made; identify integration, data, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and implementation risks early and develop mitigation approaches in partnership with accountable technical, product, and customer stakeholders.
- Customer technical engagement: Support DBM-led customer opportunities through technical discovery sessions, solution-design workshops, demonstrations, and architecture discussions; build trusted relationships with customer IT, informatics, laboratory technology, security, and other technical stakeholders while preserving DBM ownership of the customer and commercial motion.
- Pilot technical readiness: Partner with DBM, Strategic Growth & Activation (SGA), product, and accountable implementation teams to define technical success criteria, validate architecture and dependencies, document technical assumptions and risks, and prepare a clear technical handoff for pilot or implementation execution.
- Technical learning and reuse: Capture recurring integration, architecture, infrastructure, and implementation patterns from customer engagements and converts validated learning into reusable technical assets, discovery guides, standards, and product feedback that reduce friction in future opportunities.
- Technical documentation and discipline: Maintain clear technical requirements, architecture decisions, assumptions, dependencies, risks, and handoff documentation; ensures material technical uncertainties are visible and escalated before customer or implementation commitments are made.
- Go to market responsibility and role clarity: The Digital Business Leader leads the DBM team responsible for the RIS NAM pre-market commercial motion in close partnership with the accountable RDC Sales organization, with accountability for team performance, prioritization and one coordinated customer strategy across RIS and RDC.
- Capability development: Raise capability across enterprise selling, C-suite engagement, opportunity creation, diagnostics-market acumen, digital and AI fluency, value consulting, negotiation, and matrix leadership across the DBM organization.
- Business and leadership contribution: Contribute to NAM strategy, annual planning, resource decisions, and organizational evolution; represents the commercial field perspective in NAM, RDC and Global RIS leadership forums.
