Summary
This position supports our team on our child and adolescent units on a Temporary Assignment for 13 weeks on 12-hour day shifts. This is an excellent opportunity for RNs who are interested in gaining hands-on experience in Psychiatric Care without a long-term commitment.
Job description
The Registered Nurse RN coordinates and evaluates patient care through collaborative efforts with the interdisciplinary team in accordance with the nursing process and the standards of care and practices. They oversee and direct the Mental Health Technicians on their units to provide for the safety and needs of the patients.
Job Duties/Responsibilities
- Patient Observation and Monitoring
- Facilitating Therapeutic Groups
- Conducting Searches and Securing Contraband
- Assisting with Daily Living Skills
- Patient Behavior and Milieu Management
- Documentation in the Patient Record
Qualifications
- Ability to pass a Level 2 Background Investigation
- Graduate of accredited school of nursing (Associate's Degree) required. BSN preferred.
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Florida required.
- Minimum of two (2) years' related experience required.
- Psychiatric nursing experience is preferred.
- Current BLS/CPR Certification required
- Must be available to attend the full hospital and departmental orientations
