Summary

MicroBasics is looking for a commercially driven Territory Sales Manager to grow our dairy cattle business across Wisconsin, Minnesota, Michigan and Indiana. This is a field based, direct to farm sales role for someone who understands dairy production, earns trust quickly and enjoys turning real on farm challenges into practical solutions. You will grow established accounts, build new business and work alongside dairy producers and their trusted advisors to create meaningful value for their operations.

Job description

What You Will Do

  • Own and execute a territory business plan that identifies priority accounts, market opportunities and a credible path to profitable growth.
  • Retain and expand existing dairy accounts while developing new business through prospecting, referrals, networking, dealer relationships and industry events.
  • Make regular on farm visits to understand each customer's herd, nutrition, animal health and operational goals.
  • Build trusted relationships with dairy owners, general managers, herd managers, nutritionists, veterinarians, consultants, dealers and other purchasing influencers.
  • Lead a consultative sales process from discovery and presentation through proposal, follow up and closing.
  • Explain product application, science and practical value clearly to both technical and nontechnical audiences.
  • Partner with MicroBasics technical, marketing, customer service and operations teams to help customers implement solutions successfully.
  • Maintain a disciplined CRM, active sales pipeline, accurate account plans and reliable forecasts.
  • Monitor customer needs, competitive activity and market trends, then share useful market intelligence with the team.
  • Represent MicroBasics at regional and national trade shows, producer meetings and other approved industry events.

What You Will Bring

  • Practical dairy cattle experience and a solid understanding of dairy production, herd management, animal nutrition or animal health.
  • Demonstrated success in territory sales, account management or business development in dairy, livestock nutrition, feed, animal health or another related agricultural field.
  • Strong prospecting, relationship building, presentation, negotiation and closing skills.
  • The ability to earn credibility with dairy producers and communicate technical information in a practical, customer focused way.
  • Comfort working independently across a multistate territory while collaborating closely with customers, internal colleagues and external partners.
  • Experience with CRM software and strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Because this role requires frequent driving to dairy farms and industry events, a valid driver's license and the ability to travel throughout the territory, including overnight travel when needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree in dairy science, animal science, agriculture, agribusiness or a related field; relevant hands on industry experience will be considered in place of a degree.
  • An established dairy industry network in Wisconsin, Minnesota, Michigan and Indiana.
  • Experience selling animal nutrition, feed additives, animal health products or other technically differentiated agricultural solutions.
