UnityPoint Clinic is actively recruiting for an Urgent Care Physician to join our team in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
- Urgent Care Clinics are open 8am-8pm Monday – Friday; 8am-3pm Saturday and Sunday
- Schedule full time and flexible; average 14-15 shifts per month
- Rotating weekend shifts
- 2 Providers per shift
- No call requirements
- Full-time position, including dedicated administrative time, with flexible scheduling to ensure sufficient patient access
- 24/7 hospitalist program is responsible for adult and pediatric inpatients
- Fully integrated system with clinics and hospitals on EPIC EMR to improve care coordination
- Epic integration with an option for patient’s to “reserve your spot” online
Responsibilities
- Average of 5-6 patients per hour
- Provide medical treatment for minor illnesses and injuries
- Excellent assessment skills
- Work in a fast-paced environment
- Provide high quality care to all ages
- Offers select diagnostic tests and lab tests
- Prescribe treatment, refer patients for follow up care, and educate patients
- Evaluates, interprets and coordinates information to make decisions and recommendations regarding patient care
- Patient-focused, friendly and willing to collaborate in a team environment
- Excellent communication (written and verbal), analytical and problem-solving skills
Qualifications
- MD or DO
- Board Eligible or Board Certified in Family Medicine and/or Emergency Medicine
- Preferred American board of Urgent Care medicine certification
- Ability to care for all ages
- Ability to obtain and hold an unrestricted license to practice in the state of Iowa
- Hold current and unrestricted state and federal authority to prescribe and administer medications as necessary or appropriate to the physician’s field of practice
- Eligible to work in the United States (H1-B cap exempt)
