Job description
What Our Veterinary Receptionists/Assistants Do
- Welcome clients and their pets warmly and create a positive experience from the moment they arrive
- Answer phones, schedule appointments, and help clients with questions
- Check clients and patients in and out efficiently
- Process payments and keep client and patient records accurate
- Relay messages and coordinate with veterinarians and team members to keep the day running smoothly
- Help with prescription and food requests according to hospital procedures
- Assist the medical team with exam room support and patient care as needed
- Help safely handle and restrain patients during exams and procedures
- Keep the reception area, exam rooms, and treatment areas clean, stocked, and organized
- Communicate clearly and compassionately with clients, including during emotional moments
- Support your teammates and pitch in wherever needed
What You'll Bring
- Previous experience as a Veterinary Receptionist/Assistant or in a similar veterinary role
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Comfort with animal handling and supporting patient care
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills in a busy environment
- Attention to detail and accurate record-keeping
- Confidence using computers and practice management software
- Compassion and professionalism in sensitive or difficult conversations
- A team-first attitude and willingness to help wherever needed
- Availability for rotating Saturday shifts
- A genuine love for animals and the people who care for them
Requirements
