Position Summary
Operates Tig and Mig welders; ensures quality of all welds; maintains a safe working environment; contributes to team effort.
Primary Objectives and Responsibilities
- Facilitates the fusing of production materials by Tig and Mig welding mild steel, aluminum, and stainless steel; understanding various weld form symbols on blueprints and understanding size of fillet forms; welding both vertical and horizontal plane geometry; understanding various edge preps before welding.
- Ensures the quality of all welds by using and maintaining the proper equipment for each weld; examining work pieces for defects and measuring work piece with straightedge, tape measure, or template to ensure conformance with specifications; adhering to ISO and FDA regulations.
- Maintains a safe working environment by attending safety training; cleaning and maintaining a clean work area.
- Accomplish company and organizational mission by contributing to team effort and handling other duties as assigned assisting in the overall success of the company.
Qualifications
- Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required. This is normally acquired through a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Detail oriented.
- Manual dexterity required for operating machinery and computers.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds required.
- Possesses solid working knowledge of subject matter.
- Ability to become qualified to perform Lock-Out/Tag-Out procedures.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time; up to 80% of day.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
High School Diploma or equivalent required; 2-4 years of experience required.
