Summary

The Zone / Nationwide Director, Electrophysiology & Structural Heart (EP/SH) provides strategic leadership for Siemens Healthineers intracardiac echocardiography (ICE) and related cardiovascular imaging solutions across a broad U.S. zone or nationwide scope. This role is responsible for advancing adoption of 4D ICE through a partner-led commercial model, working closely with Boston Scientific (BSC), which will primarily lead catheter sales, system placement, and commercial execution.

Job description

The Director serves as a critical partner to Boston Scientific and, at times, acts as a connection between physicians, hospital stakeholders, and Siemens Healthineers teams to identify opportunities, build the market, and deliver a coordinated customer experience. The Director will maintain strong relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), physicians, and key hospital stakeholders; identify market and clinical trends; support customer introductions and strategic discussions; and clearly articulate the clinical, workflow, and economic value proposition of 4D ICE.

Where required, the role will also support the sale of ACUSON Origin ultrasound systems necessary to enable 4D ICE procedures. Once a customer moves forward, the Director coordinates across Boston Scientific and Siemens Healthineers teams to facilitate system delivery, installation, training, clinical support, and ongoing adoption, helping ensure a seamless and positive customer experience.

In addition to LAAC, the Director will support the expansion of 4D ICE across Structural Heart procedures where enhanced intracardiac imaging can improve procedural guidance, workflow, and physician confidence. This includes identifying and developing opportunities in mitral, tricuspid, and other transcatheter valve procedures; building relationships with Structural Heart physicians and KOLs; and partnering with Siemens Healthineers teams, device companies, and other stakeholders to advance the role of 4D ICE in these evolving procedures.

The long-term objective is to establish 4D ICE as a new standard of care for WATCHMAN left atrial appendage closure (LAAC) and Structural Heart procedures, evolving clinical practice beyond its current reliance on transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) guidance to advance patient care, improve clinical outcomes, enhance procedural efficiency, and deliver greater economic value for healthcare systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute market development strategies to accelerate adoption of 4D ICE across EP and Structural Heart procedures.
  • Build a strong partnership with Boston Scientific leadership and field teams to identify, prioritize, and activate WATCHMAN LAAC sites.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with KOLs, physicians, cardiovascular leaders, and other key decision-makers.
  • Articulate the clinical, workflow, and economic value of 4D ICE and support customer and physician education.
  • Identify and develop opportunities for 4D ICE across mitral, tricuspid, and other Structural Heart procedures.
  • Maintain knowledge of clinical trends, competitive activity, and customer needs, and translate insights into market development opportunities.
  • Coordinate the customer journey across BSC and Siemens Healthineers, including ultrasound system requirements, delivery, installation, training, and clinical support.
  • Support ACUSON Origin sales when capital equipment is required to enable 4D ICE adoption.
  • Partner with clinical and commercial teams to support successful site activation and sustained catheter utilization.
  • Represent Siemens Healthineers in strategic customer, partner, and industry discussions.

Leadership Scope

  • Lead through influence across Siemens Healthineers, Boston Scientific, and other strategic partners.
  • Align internal and external teams around priority accounts, market development, and customer needs.
  • Coordinate Siemens Healthineers resources to deliver a consistent and positive customer experience.
  • Establish operating rhythms to monitor site activation, adoption, utilization, and market opportunities.
  • Foster a collaborative, customer-focused culture centered on partnership and clinical adoption.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 15 years of successful Electrophysiology and/or Structural Heart sales experience, including documented commercial results.

  • Proven ability to work effectively with strategic partners and lead through influence in a matrixed environment.
  • Executive and C-suite customer engagement experience, including complex health system and strategic account relationships.
  • Experience building and managing KOL relationships within Electrophysiology and Structural Heart.
  • Strong business and financial acumen, including forecasting, pipeline management, performance analysis, and resource prioritization.
  • Proficiency with CRM platforms, forecasting tools, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent executive communication, presentation, negotiation, coaching, and strategic planning skills.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher.
  • Ability to travel up to 75%.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 15+ years of cardiovascular medical device experience with deep Electrophysiology and Structural Heart expertise.
  • Experience leading a nationwide business, zone, or similarly broad commercial organization.
  • Advanced clinical knowledge of Electrophysiology and Structural Heart procedures.
